About what we make
What makes Stock & Sauce products different?
Everything is handcrafted in small batches in our own Calgary kitchen, using real ingredients and traditional cooking methods. We have been family-owned since 2002.
We don’t take shortcuts, because exceptional flavour simply can’t be rushed. Every product is made with the same care and attention we’d expect to serve our own family.
Are your soups and prepared meals made from scratch?
Yes. Our soups, stews, sauces and prepared meals are built from scratch on our own slow-simmered stocks — the same stocks and reductions we sell on their own.
Are your products made in small batches?
Yes. Small-batch production is how we keep quality consistent and flavour where it should be. It’s the reason we’ve never moved to large-scale production.
Where are your products made?
Everything is made in Calgary, Alberta — proudly made here since 2002.
Do you use real ingredients?
Yes. Real ingredients are the first of our four kitchen principles: use real ingredients, cook with traditional methods, never compromise on quality, and nourish, don’t just fill.
A full ingredient list for any product is available in-store or on request — just ask us at the market or send us a message.
Do you use preservatives or artificial ingredients?
We cook from real ingredients in small batches, using traditional methods. Every product’s full ingredient list is printed on its label and available at our market stalls or on request, so you can see exactly what goes into each tub.
What makes your bone broth different?
Our bone broths are slowly simmered for nourishment rather than speed, and we start with better raw material — organic chicken and grass-fed beef. We also make a chocolate bone broth, which is not something you’ll find in many places.
All three are dairy free and gluten free, and sold in 1 L tubs.
What size are your soups and stews?
Our soups, stews and chili come in 1 L tubs — enough for a family meal or several portions to keep. Sizes for other products are shown in-store.
Gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian & vegan
How can I tell if a product is gluten-free or dairy-free?
Every product on this site carries the same dietary badges we print on the label:
- GF — gluten free
- DF — dairy free
- V — vegetarian
- VG — vegan
You’ll see them on every card on our products page.
Which of your products are gluten-free?
55 of our 77 products are gluten free. That includes every bone broth, stock and reduction, all three pestos, all of our vinaigrettes and marinades, and both compound butters.
Look for the GF badge on our products page.
Which of your products are dairy-free?
33 of our 77 products are dairy free — including every bone broth, stock and reduction, both gravies, and three of our four stews and chili.
Look for the DF badge on our products page.
Which of your products are vegetarian?
34 of our 77 products are vegetarian, across soups, sauces, pesto, dips, salads, vinaigrettes and butters.
Look for the V badge on our products page.
Which of your products are vegan?
11 of our products are vegan: Borscht, Vegetable Medley soup, Vegetable Stock, Vegan Chili, Pizza Sauce, Bruschetta, Hummus, Pico de Gallo, Salsa, Chili Mango Tango Salad and Oriental Citrus Salad.
Look for the VG badge on our products page.
Do you offer products for special dietary needs?
Yes. Gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian and vegan options run right across our range rather than sitting in a separate line — so you’re choosing from the same handcrafted food as everyone else.
If you’re cooking for a specific requirement and want help choosing, get in touch and we’ll walk you through it.
Getting our food to you
Can I order online?
Yes. Browse the products page, add what you’d like to your cart, and choose delivery or market pickup at checkout.
Are all your products available for online ordering?
Most of them — 67 of our 77. Our salads are made fresh for the market, and our seasonal dishes are only in the case at certain times of year. Both are still listed here so you can see what we make and what it costs; they are just not in the online cart.
Why can’t I find your salads online?
They are dressed and assembled fresh the morning of each market. They do not travel well enough for us to be happy putting them in a delivery van, so we keep them at the stall where they are at their best. All six are on the products page.
Do you make turkey gravy?
Seasonally. It is not on the online menu — ask at either market around the holidays. Our seasonal items come and go with the ingredients.
Do you offer delivery, and how much does it cost?
We deliver in Calgary. Delivery is free on orders of $50 or more, and $15 on orders under that.
Our delivery, cancellation and refund policy has the full details, including pickup hours and how to cancel.
Do you charge GST?
Most of our food carries no GST. Any GST that does apply to your order appears as its own line at checkout, before you place it, so the total you see is the total you pay.
Can I pick up my online order?
Yes — choose market pickup at checkout and collect your order from either Calgary Farmers’ Market location. Pickup is always free.
Can I place an order without using the website?
Yes. Email inquiries@stockandsauce.ca or come and find us at the market, and we’ll take your order.
Are there any bundle savings?
Yes, two of them.
Buy 4, save $4. Choose any four from the same category — four soups, or four stocks and broths, or four sauces — and $4 comes off. It repeats, so eight soups saves you $8. It applies to soups, bone broths and stocks, stews and chili, meals to go, pasta, sauces and gravies, and compound butters. Mixing across categories doesn’t count: two soups and two stews is not a four.
Buy 3 dips or pestos, 50% off chips. Any three between the two categories, and a bag of corn tortilla chips is half price.
Both are applied automatically in your cart, and both run at our market stalls too.

For businesses and bigger tables
Do you supply restaurants, cafés and food service businesses?
Yes. Retailers, wholesale partners and food service businesses are a core part of who we cook for — restaurants, cafés and kitchens that want handcrafted products they can put their name behind.
Do you offer wholesale pricing, and how do I become a wholesale customer?
We do. Email inquiries@stockandsauce.ca and we’ll talk through pricing, quantities and what you need.
Can I order products in larger quantities?
Yes — larger quantities are available for both households and businesses. Let us know what you need and we’ll sort it out.
Do you offer catering, and do you have family-sized meals?
We do take catering inquiries — for large groups, events and corporate lunches, get in touch and we’ll build something around what you’re serving.
For family-sized portions off the shelf, our soups, stews and chili come in 1 L tubs, and our Fabalous 5 Layer Lasagna is made to feed a table.
How we cook
Are your products made with traditional cooking methods?
Yes — it’s one of our four kitchen principles. We slow-simmer, we reduce, and we wait. Exceptional flavour simply can’t be rushed.
Are your products chef-crafted?
Yes. Our stocks and reductions are built to chef standard — the same demi glace, glace de veau and glace de viande that professional kitchens use — and everything else is made to the same standard.
How do you ensure product quality?
Small batches, real ingredients, and one simple test: nothing leaves our kitchen that we wouldn’t serve at our own table.
Who we are
Who is Stock & Sauce?
A family-owned Calgary food company. Stock & Sauce was founded in 2002 by two mothers who wanted wholesome, handcrafted food for their growing families, and grew into one of Calgary’s trusted producers of premium soups, bone broths, prepared meals, sauces and specialty foods.
How long has Stock & Sauce been in business?
Since 2002 — over twenty years serving families, retailers and food service across Alberta.
Is Stock & Sauce family-owned?
Yes, and always has been. Kari and Phil Faba are still the people behind it.
What makes Stock & Sauce different from other prepared food companies?
Scale, mostly. We’ve stayed small-batch and handcrafted rather than moving to large-scale production, which is what lets us keep using real ingredients and traditional methods.
It also means the people who make your food are the people who own the business.
Where are you located?
Calgary, Alberta — with stalls at Calgary Farmers’ Market South (510 77 Ave SE) and Calgary Farmers’ Market West in Greenwich (25 Greenbriar Dr NW).
How can I contact Stock & Sauce?
Email inquiries@stockandsauce.ca, use the form on our contact page, or come say hello at either market.
How can I provide feedback about a product or my experience?
We’d genuinely like to hear it. Email inquiries@stockandsauce.ca, or leave us a Google review.
Didn’t find your question? Storage times, reheating, allergens, delivery areas and seasonal items like holiday gravy are best answered by us directly — email inquiries@stockandsauce.ca and we’ll give you a straight answer.
